Mission of the Viva Brava Foundation
Stichting Viva Brava wants to offer all inhabitants of Cape Verde, starting with the island of Brava, help/hope/support. Transport and healthcare have the highest priority, but everything is welcome to help the inhabitants a little on their way, think of care aids such as; walkers, crutches, wheelchairs, glasses, hearing aids, pregnancy and baby/children items etc.
But also educational school resources such as; computers, tablets, interactive toys etc.
In addition, we would also like to invest in Sports & Exercise and Food & Clothing.
We would like to announce that we will specifically look at the people who need the most needs/care.
Vision of the Viva Brava Foundation
The Viva Brava Foundation strives to offer help to as many people as possible by giving them a helping hand.
This help can be financial or other forms of resources to make the lives of these people a lot more bearable.
In addition, we want to let people know, no matter what situation they are in, never to lose hope because a miracle can happen at any moment.
Purpose of the Foundation
The goal of the Viva Brava Foundation is:
- Promoting the well-being and well-being of residents by allowing them to experience life, by making wishes/needs/care come true.
- Acquiring contacts that can support the foundation's mission.
- Acquiring funds to finance and implement people's needs.
- Annually increasing the number of people's needs.
- Management and administration of benefits obtained from, among other things, donations or crowdfunding for the benefit of people.
- Continuous professionalization, optimization, improvement and renewal of the organization in order to continue the mission in the long term.
The foundation is not for profit and is dependent on contributions from third parties
Strategic plan of the Viva Brava Foundation
The stated goals of the Viva Brava Foundation are achieved by:
- Generating domestic and international recognition in order to be able to fulfill as many needs of the people as possible.
- Cooperation with organizations, companies, institutions.
- Donations from individuals and companies.

- Sponsoring and donations from companies that support the mission of the foundation
- Gifts from individuals
- Subsidies
- Joining/organizing events related to the topic of needs in the broadest sense of the word.
Asset management of the Viva Brava Foundation
The funds obtained from fundraising are initially placed in an account in the name of Stichting Viva Brava at ING in Rotterdam. These funds are then used to achieve the objectives.
In the event of dissolution, or if it appears that the foundation has achieved its objectives, the foundation can be dissolved. Any positive liquidation balance is spent on behalf of a public benefit institution with a similar objective or on behalf of a foreign institution that exclusively or almost exclusively aims at the public benefit and that has a similar objective.
The board
The board is responsible for the policy, financial management and internal and external communication of the foundation.
The foundation has a board consisting of the following three board members;
Chairman/founder: Mr. N. Fortes
Secretary: Mrs. M. Reyes
Treasurer: Mrs. E.R. Gomes Baptista Fortes
The board members do not receive any remuneration.
Meeting cycle
The board meets at least twice a year. During the meetings, the policy plan serves as a starting point to assess progress. Each board member can also propose topics for the meeting,
Cooperation
In order to guarantee feasibility and quality, the foundation seeks advice and, if necessary, support, partly from volunteers, advisors and/or organizations, in the areas of financial policy, communication and recruitment of donors and the implementation of projects/needs.
Communication
The website www.Stichtingvivabrava.nl is the communication channel for the foundation. Through the information and communication that takes place there, visitors are informed about the foundation, the mission and the goal and in this way are encouraged to donate.
In addition, the foundation uses social media channels that are also mentioned on the website.
On the website, the foundation communicates its policy and information as well as the annual report.
